GENERAL MEETING, APRIL 8, 2020

PRESENT: Jim Turvaville, Norman Baker, Jon Ebensperger, Terry Johnson, Roger Spindler, Kimberly Lunda, Chris Zenner

CALL BOARD MEETING TO ORDER.

MOTION to Accept March 11th & March 20th, 2020 Board Meeting Minutes by Baker/Spindler, motion carried.

PUBLIC WORKS: Chris had photos on hand of a down rigger that they need for the ponds in order to take samples safely. It remotely raises and lowers the sampler.

MOTION to buy the down rigger by Spindler/Baker, motion carried. Chris also had photos of a wench used for pulling out the pumps at the lift station.

MOTION to buy a 1,000 pd capacity by Ebensperger/Spindler, motion carried. It was reported that the new lawn mower will go in for its 100-hour checkup next week. Chris questioned the board about replacing the windshield on the Chevy truck as it was badly pitted and scratched up. The cost of replacement would be $200.00.

MOTION to have the windshield replaced by Baker/Ebensperger, motion carried. Chris also asked about what the board wanted to do about concrete sidewalk repair this year and they all agreed that the sidewalk along main street was pretty badly broken up on the south side just east of W6361 and up to the W6357 area so he was told to go ahead with those repairs.

MOTION to approve the resolution to have electronic board meetings if needed by Spindler/Baker, motion carried

PURCHASE of a new voting machine was tabled, the board wanted information on how much it would cost to repair the broken one and how much longer the machine will be serviceable. ( Clerk Lunda checked repairs and the serviceable date; it will be serviceable until 2022. After that they will no longer work on these machines, the repairs are in our contract)

MOTION to approve chip sealing Main and Wabash this year and doing Pepin street next year by Johnson/Baker, motion carried

TABLED repairs to the water tower so that bids can be obtained from different companies.

DISCUSSION on tree removal in Saratoga and the Campground. The trees will be cut down that need to be in these area’s with possible replacement of them later. Further discussion regarding the campground lead to a vote on what should be allowed regarding allowing the campers with COVID19. The board decided that at this time we would only allow self-contained units, no tenting, campers must maintain social distancing, no large groups are allowed no more than 10 people and they would like to see no more than immediate family invited to the campground.

MOTION to go into closed session – roll call vote per Wis. Statute 19.85 (1)(c) for consideration of employment, employee compensation, promotion and evaluation.

MOTION to return from closed session – roll call vote.

MOTION to interview Jesse Hohmann and Jeff Link by Baker/Spindler, motion carried.

MOTION to Approve bills by Baker/Spindler, motion carried.
